04 December 2008 - Actions announced to assist Suffolk through the
credit crunch
Community leaders from the
public, private and voluntary sectors met today in a unique move to
support Suffolk families and businesses struggling in the current
economic downturn.

Community Safety Accredited
people will soon be walking the streets of Suffolk with defined
powers to assist in reducing crime and tackling anti-social
behaviour.

Suffolk schools get Booked Up! Authors visit Ipswich schools on
Monday
Authors Tom Palmer and
Catherine Johnson will be visiting Holywells, Stoke and Chantry
secondary schools on Monday 8 December to celebrate Booked Up, the
programme that gifts a book to every pupil in Year 7 in
England.

new Children's Centre for Ipswich
Wooden House Children’s
Centre, which celebrates its official opening on Wednesday 10
December at 12 midday, will be a community facility offering high
quality information, support and services to families with children
from the Rushmere Hall area in Ipswich.

services

said to have "sustained its strong performance" and is "making good
progress”, according to a report by Ofsted, the national inspectors
of services for children and families, published
today.
